Back in 2008, when Miley Cyrus was still Hannah Montana, she released an album called Breakout that sold more than 371,000 copies in its first week.

So the question coming into the week was if her new album, Bangerz, which features a new sound, would sell more. The results are in, and the answer is no. However, the pop star still did her numbers.

Bangerz sold 273,818 in its first week, easily making it the number one album in the country, dethroning Justin Timberlake and The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 album in the process.

The other question going into the week was how hip-hop would do. Two underground favorites, Pusha T and Danny Brown, also released albums.

Pusha did well. The rapper had no big single, and he still sold 75,000 copies of his My Name is My Name LP in his first week. Danny Brown struggled more. Old, which is technically his debut, took in a little more than 15,000 copies, putting him at number 17.

Congratz to all that made the charts.
