If you’ve been keeping an eye on the red carpet coverage of one of the most anticipated movies of the season, 12 Years A Slave, then you have without a doubt caught a glimpse of the close-cropped beauty, Lupita Nyong’o.

With a repertoire as worldly as Lupita’s, it’s hard not to appeal to the masses. The actress was born in Mexico, raised in Kenya and educated in the USA at the Yale University School of Drama’s Acting program.

Lupita, who plays Patsey in the new Steve McQueen-directed film, is no stranger to the industry, as she spent years behind the scenes filling a number of shoes that ranged from sound editor, to director and intern. But something tells us we’ll be seeing more of Lupita front and center, and based on her latest style moves, she’ll have the wardrobe to boot.

With the movie fame comes a bevy of opportunities to grace the red carpet, and while most new actresses enter a forgiven grace period where they don’t quite master the scene, Lupita has been able to dive in gorgeous skin first, playing up her cult classic silhouettes in a myriad of colors from a wide range of designers while keeping two things consistent: a glowing complexion and air of elegance.

Uncommon to new actresses, Lupita has already been spotted in big ticket designs from Rodarte, Christopher Kane, Prada, Erdem, Rodarte, Miu Miu and more.

Her face is a new one, her name is not one of the household, yet, but her style is effortlessly classic. Check out some of Lupita’s most awe-worthy red carpet moments in the gallery below.
