Syleena Johnson is more than an R&B diva. She’s an R&B legend.
As the daughter of legendary soul singer/producer Syl Johnson, Syleena Johnson has worked with countless artists over the years. From Kanye West to R. Kelly, Syleena has meticulously created timeless R&B music for the masses with legend after legend.
Syleena stopped by GlobalGrind’s offices to discuss filming season three of TV One’s R&B Divas Atlanta and working on her forthcoming album – Chapter 6: Couples Therapy.
Syleena also revealed she recently reunited with Kanye West after 10 years. After collaborating on his 2004 smash “All Falls Down” together, Kanye called up Syleena to sing the hook on Rick Ross’ Mastermind smash “Sanctified.” Syleena was all set to be featured on Rozay’s album, until the MMG rapper decided to use legendary singer Betty Wright’s vocals instead.
She also featured a few funny stories about recording with DMX back in the day, as well as spoke about her new hair weave line.
