It’s been almost a month since @badgalriri, Rihanna‘s Instagram account, met its untimely demise, and the world is still in mourning. We’ve been left with nothing but memories (and many a screenshot) of RiRi in all her unapologetic half-naked glory.
While we’re all hoping the bad gal’s account gets revived, STAT, Tom Ford is realizing there’s some good in it, too. Earlier this week in an interview with Style.com, the famed designer said that when it comes to fashion, Rihanna’s photos are more influential than anything else:
Something new is happening that I’m just clueing into now—this probably won’t go down well—but customers don’t care any more about reviews or hard-copy publications. They care what picture Rihanna just Instagrammed while she’s naked in bed, what new shoes she has on, how she’s talking about them. That’s what they respond to.
That and whether or not she’s showing off her nipples–which was what coincidentally prompted Instagram to pull the plug on her account. But no one is as upset as Scout Willis over the loss of @badgalriri and the social media site’s rules against nudity.
The 22-year-old daughter of Bruce Willis has lost it. And by it, we mean her top.
After her account was shut down for violating the community guidelines, like Rihanna, she took to Twitter and the streets of New York City to protest. Topless.
Scout posted pictures of herself and other women with their nipples exposed and captions like, “Legal in NYC but not on @instagram” and “What @instagram won’t let you see #FreeTheNipple.” She even changed her avatar to Rihanna’s nude magazine cover for Lui.
