They say numbers don’t lie.

Cutting through the embarrassment of his terrible first pitch at a recent Mets game, and leaving his beef with several rappers on the shelf, 50 Cent stepped back into the arena with his new album, Animal Ambition. The album sold 47,000 units in its first week and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

His previous release, 2009’s Before I Self Destruct, sold 160,000 copies during opening week. Animal Ambition is 50 Cent’s first independently released album since leaving Interscope Records last year. Despite lower numbers on the new album, fans are excited to see how far Fiddy will go to blow new life back into his rap career.

With talks of a G-Unit reunion album in the works, it seems 50 Cent will stop at nothing to remind us that the rap game still needs him.
