Earlier this year, Oprah Winfrey revealed that casting for the upcoming film Selma had begun. Now, we finally get to see the stars of the film dressed as their characters – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King.

Director Ava DuVernay Instagrammed the photo above featuring actors David Oyelowo and Carmen Ejogo in character, recreating the scene of Rev. Martin Luther King’s final speech after the famous Selma marches. She captioned it:

Today I salute the 49th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act being signed into law, and the bravery and intelligence it took to make it so.

You may remember David Oyelowo from his pivotal role as Louis Gaines in The Butler; and Carmen Ejogo is also a familiar face, having starred in the hit film Sparkle.

Oprah will also star and produce – along with other A-Listers like Brad Pitt. Selma will have a limited release on December 25, 2014, before opening wide on January 9, 2015.
