See, we already told you you should be paying close attention to Gugu Mbatha-Raw, but maybe now you’ll really listen.
Last night, some of the best of the best in performing arts gathered for the British Academy of Film and Television Los Angeles Britannia Awards, Gugu being one of the many in attendance to celebrate others in her field. Although she wasn’t an official honoree of the evening, we feel the need to acknowledge the British beauty, who is well on her rise to the top.
You may have first seen her as Belle back in May in the 1700s-set film of the same name, or maybe on your newsstand on ELLE magazine. Next month, she’ll be on the silver screen again when she stars as Noni, a troubled superstar, in Beyond the Lights.
At the awards event, Gugu stole the show by ruffling our feathers in the best way possible. Wearing a fun and flirty LBD by Burberry, she was equal parts sexy and sophisticated without showing too much skin, with her hair pulled back and a radiant red lip to boot.
It’s safe to say she’s our latest obsession.
