In solidarity with Ferguson.

Chicago newcomer Tink reacts to Ferguson’s grand jury decision by releasing a thought-provoking new song titled “Tell The Children.”

Borrowing from Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” cadence, Tink can be heard singing, “Tell the children to…watch out/ keep running, running, running.”  She continues singing, “Oh, they’re gaining on us/ keep running, running, running.”

Tink may only be 19-years-old, but she’s a wise young woman. The Winter’s Diary 2 singer also raps:

“It bothers me, a badge is a pass to do whatever/So now we’re living in fear of the people here to protect us/They lie and disrespect us, kill us and then neglect us/The problem when nobody sees the view from my perspective.”

Tink is currently readying her Timbaland-produced debut album. In the meantime, listen to her latest song below.
