It’s been a while since we’ve seen Kimora Lee Simmons at the forefront of fashion design—until today.

The model, muse, designer, and entrepreneur has been keeping quite busy between helping students follow in her fabulous footsteps by establishing a $1 million scholarship fund and tying the knot earlier this year. Now, she’s back like she never left with the launch of her new collection, KLS Kimora Lee Simmons.

Before this, there was Baby Phat, what was once one of the most popular brands for young women. But just like Kimora is now, KLS is much more mature.

“It’s different for me. It’s, like, grown up,” she told WWD, describing some pieces from the line as having “subtlety to the sexiness.”

The new image being portrayed in the tailored, ready-to-wear brand is less about a rebranding and more of an evolution. The evolution in clothing and in Kimora.

“I’m not the same woman now. KLS isn’t catering to a teenage audience or a young party girl. I’m a serious businesswoman,” she said.

Based in New York, KLS consists of quality pieces that range from $500 to $2,400 and will be sold in her new under-construction store in Beverly Hills.

Don’t call it a comeback—Kimora will forever be living life in the fab lane.
