According to new reports, a freight train carrying toxic chemicals in South Carolina derailed on Friday night, causing many cars to overturn, leak, and more. The incident, which occurred after the train hit a tree that had fallen onto the tracks, resulted in a 1.5 mile-wide evacuation. [DailyMail]

An Egyptian court has sentenced an American citizen to life in prison after he supported a 2013 Islamist protest “against the military ouster of President Mohamed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood.” 35 other defendants face the same penalty, while 12 were sentenced to death.

Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein will not be charged for allegedly groping an Italian model this past March. Though the victim said Weinstein tried to put his hand up her dress, authorities claim that after analyzing evidence and conducting interviews, a criminal charge was not supported. [Gawker]
