Kelly Rowland is on the prowl to find the modern-day Destiny’s Child, and her hunt will be facilitated by the new BET show called Chasing Destiny.

Rowland told Entertainment Weekly:

“I think each generation should be better than the last, and I really want to put together a group: I feel there’s one just out there waiting to be discovered, and I want to be the one to do it.”

Rowland will be joined by choreographer-director Frank Gatson, former Destiny’s Child collaborator and Beyonce’s current creative director, to help find the gal group of our generation.

From EW:

“Each group member should be confident, aware of how great they are as individuals, in order to know what you bring to a group — because then you won’t be insecure,” adds Rowland. “I think when you know what you bring to the table, it makes you that much more secure as a group member. And you have to have a team-player mentality and know that you’re there to be a team: This is not about a solo star. I said that at the beginning because I don’t want that. I don’t want that sh-t! I want somebody who’s gonna be in it for the group because you’re only as strong as your weakest link.”

Chasing Destiny is slated to premiere later in 2015. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
