In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube opened up and finally shed some light on the N.W.A. biopic, their possible reunion tour, and Suge Knight‘s murder charge.

One of the highlights of the interview was their honesty about the difficulties they had when it came to making the film, including the violence that came along with it. Filming in Compton had its benefits, but it also had some serious consequences. Early on, a civilian was injured in a drive-by, but the real kicker came when Suge Knight allegedly ran over two men associated with the movie outside a promotional event – resulting in one man’s death. Dre believes the killings were an “unfortunate incident,” Ice Cube simply had this to say:

“It’s the dangerous part of living in South Central. Some people don’t care if you’re making a movie or not. It’s unfortunate because the movie is so good, so creative, so many talented people involved.”

Could MTV be in trouble? According to Billboard, the company is desperately struggling to reinvent itself as its target generation outgrows reality shows, more and more viewers are turning away from traditional TV to digital, and competition for good scripted shows is fierce.

Some execs believe the solution lies in the scripted series, and are focusing on that instead of the once wildly popular reality shows, like The Real World, while others are worried about what this means for the future of MTV.
