Good news, Jurassic World fans!

Following the massively successful movie released earlier this summer, Universal has confirmed a sequel to be released June 22, 2018. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will reprise their roles, Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly will return as writers, and Steven Spielberg will executive produce.

Angelina Jolie has been tapped to direct and produce a Netflix original movie to be filmed in Cambodia. Her son, Cambodian native Maddox Jolie-Pitt, will also be involved in the production, an adaptation of the memoir First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers.

From Us Weekly:

“I was deeply affected by Loung [Ung]’s book,” the 40-year-old actress said in the statement. “It deepened forever my understanding of how children experience war and are affected by the emotional memory of it. And it helped me draw closer still to the people of Cambodia, my son’s homeland,” she added.

Stay tuned for further information.

Another Straight Outta Compton featurette has been released ahead of the movie’s August 14 premiere. The film will chronicle N.W.A.‘s rise to fame, and as this trailer details, how Eazy-E was a critical element to the group’s success. The video includes soundbites from Dr. Dre and Ice Cube, among others. Check it out above.

When former Daily Show writer Wyatt Cenac told Jon Stewart his 2012 Herman Cain impression went too far, Stewart had this response: “Fuck off.” On a recent episode of WTF With Marc Maron, Cenac, notably the only Black writer on the show at the time, detailed how his opposition to Stewart’s opinions didn’t go over well, to say the least.

From Deadline:

“He got incredibly defensive. I remember he was like, ‘What are you trying to say? There’s a tone in your voice.’ I was like, ‘There’s no tone. It bothered me.’ … And then he got upset. He stood up and he was just like, ‘Fuck off. I’m done with you.’ And he just started screaming that to me, and he screamed it a few times. … ‘Fuck off! I’m done with you.’ And he stormed out. I didn’t know if I had been fired,” remembered Cenac.

Following the incident, Cenac had an emotional breakdown.

Added Cenac, “I represent my people, and I try to represent them the best that I can. I gotta be honest if something seems questionable, because if not, then I don’t want to be in a position where I am being untrue not just to myself but to my culture, because that’s exploitative.”

Jon Stewart’s PR is likely very busy trying to combat the bad press right now.
