Back in April, legendary hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest announced they were celebrating the 25th anniversary of People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths Of Rhythm with a reissue album featuring remixes by this generation’s hottest artists.
Last month, Pharrell released his remix of Tribe’s “Bonita Applebum.” Now, we have J. Cole’s remix, but don’t get too excited. The Dreamville rapper doesn’t actually spit any bars, instead Cole offers up his production expertise and remixes the beat for Tip and Phife Dawg to rhyme over.
Cee-Lo Green will also appear on the album for his contribution to “Footprints.” The reissue of Tribe’s People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm is due out on Friday, November 13. Take a listen to Cole’s remix below.
