Stories of Keshia Knight Pulliam’s divorce from husband Ed Hartwell have been rampant all week.
The former Cosby Show star was shocked to learn that her husband of only 7 months had decided to serve her with divorce papers only a week after she announced that she was pregnant with the couple’s first child, a baby girl.
Now, she wants to set the record straight once and for all on exactly just what happened in her short marriage.
Keshia is an industry veteran and she knows how to get ahead of a story before things get out of hand, and that’s just what she did in a raw and tearful interview with Entertainment Tonight.
One of the first big revelations she made? Ed was the one who was unfaithful in their relationship, not her.
“Early on in my marriage when I was faced with this, I was ready to leave. It’s not OK,” Pulliam says. “In the process, I found out I was pregnant. And I had to take another hard look and decide if I wanted to try to work through this and forgive him for the sake of the child. Like, I had divorce papers ready. I presented it to him. … Once I was pregnant I did decide to give him that one last chance. The part that hurt me the most when he filed for divorce was that he had asked me to give him another chance, and I was willing to do that and forgive him, for our family,” she claims.
On her estranged husband asking for a paternity test, she asserts:
“This is his baby. He wanted more children. He was excited once he found out that we were having a little girl. There was never a question about that. … No point after we got pregnant was there an issue of the fact that we’re having a baby.”

Additionally, when asked if she was still in love with Hartwell, Pulliam tearfully replied that she was in love with the man that he pretended to be. She also stated that her number one concern is her daughter. This is an unfortunate and heartbreaking situation and we wish Keshia Knight Pulliam all the best.
