Kanye West has taken over NYC all Summer Sixteen.

The rapper ended the season with a bang on Wednesday by showcasing his Yeezy Season 4 fashion line at Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island. In true Kanye fashion, there were lots of moments that made attendees scratch their heads in confusion and caused social media to erupt.

Model Amina Blue almost took a tumble and removed her heels while on the runway. Social media went crazy with memes about Blue, who also starred in Tyga’s “1 of 1” music video. Ironically, Kylie took to Twitter to defend the model, saying “Her heel broke. It’s not her fault.” Amina finished the show in a pair of Yeezy sandals:

After all the controversy surrounding the Yeezy modeling call, which specifically asked for “multiracial” women, it was revealed that Kanye just didn’t know how to properly ask for different shades of Black women. He told Vogue, “How do you word the idea that you want all variations of black?” Despite the backlash, Kanye’s vision became reality; his show featured various shades of beautiful Black women:

Fans of Ye’s highly anticipated new line waited months for him to reveal the location of his exclusive show. But Kanye didn’t tell the location of his Yeezy Season 4 show until three hours before its start time:

The 84 degree weather proved to be too much for some of the models. The show’s excitement and creativity was hampered by reports that models were fainting and in desperate need of water as they were forced to stand in the baking heat for hours (plural) without shade:

The show’s original 3 p.m. start time turned into 3:30 and then into 4 as guests continued waiting in the heat. Even the Kardashian clan arrived an hour and a half late:

All in all, Kanye’s Yeezy Season 4 turned out to be performance art, just like everything else the rapper creates.
