I’m a huge college football head and an alumni from a Big Ten school so I just couldn’t resist covering this story.

Last night in overtime on fourth down with fourteen yards to go and the visiting team, Notre Dame, leading by three points Michigan State went for what may end up being called one of the greatest plays in college football history.

With only seconds left in the game and the ball on the 29 yard line with thousands of Spartan fans staring in dead silence, Michigan State lined up for a 46 yard field goal attempt that would hopefully take them into double over-time.   However, when the ball was snapped it wasn’t kicked, but was thrown successfully into the end-zone for a triumphant game-winning touchdown.

You just can’t write better stuff than that–even in the movies.  Shout out to MSU head coach Mark Dantonio for that call.  The video is below.
