So we should all get our Lil Wayne fix now, because on February 09, 2010 Mr. Carter is due in New York City to be sentenced on gun charges stemming from a June 2007 arrest on his tour bus rolling through New York City. Wayne is expected to serve between 8 months and a year in prison for the loaded 9mm found by police. So in the last few weeks we got our Lil Wayne fix, on Sunday night at the Grammy’s where himself, Eminem, and Drake tore down the stage, on Tuesday his long awaited ‘Rebirth’ LP dropped to the world and most recently he joined a star studded cast of musicians performing ‘We Are The World’ for Haiti.

Wayne said on working on ‘We Are The World’:

I’ve never been involved in anything like this. My attitude coming out is I feel blessed and I feel like I’ve done something today, and that’s always a good day. I was like, ‘What am I doing here?’ I was like, ‘You guys are real good comedians.’ After I did Bob Dylan’s part, it kind of hit me that I guess this is way more important than I could ever imagine.’

A truthful and honest confession from an artist that will soon be facing a challenge he never expected. Wayne’s last and final appearance will be with hip hop heavyweights P. Diddy, Pharrell Williams, Chris Brown, Wyclef Jean and others for a benefit concert in Miami, Florida. The concert will focus on raising money for CARE, Project Medishare, Yele Haiti and Children’s Safe Drinking Water.

So let’s all circle February 09, 2010 on our calendar because on that date Lil Wayne will cease to be a rap star and become an inmate of the state of New York.
