Tomorrow, October 14, 2010, Dipset’s Freekey Zekey and Harlem’s Assemblyman Keith L. Wright will help register donors for a bone marrow drive held by Preserve Our Legacy, Inc. The drive will take place in Harlem at the NYC Mission Society, 646 Lenox Ave/Malcolm X Blvd from 2PM to 6PM. Preserve Our Legacy is searching for a bone marrow match for 10-year-old Lloyd ‘LJ’ Jones and they need YOUR help! So if you’re in the NYC-area, stop by and see if your a match for LJ. It’s a great cause and who knows, if you’re not a match for LJ, you could be for someone else who is in need for bone marrow.

Perserve Our Legacy’s mission is to educate minorities about the benefits of stem cells and the treatment options they provide. In the national registry of donors, minorities are highly under represented, which means it’s even harder for a minority fighting cancer to find a match that may save their life. In the national registry of donors, Hispanics represent 9 percent, African-American represent 8 percent, Asians 7 percent and Native Americans only 1 percent. It’s time to change that and give all people an equal chance at living.
