Word on da street is when times are rough, we got to be tougher. N****s should stop crying and complaining all da time. Da mirror of my life reflects more than personal hardship, bullet wounds, and a fucked-up world.

I got high aspirations Son. You feel me? My Street is just as important as Wall Street. I got dreams and hopes but I have learned da hard way, da real way that if I don’t get my ass up and try to make something of myself everyday, then I am just wasting myself away and missing da opportunities of a life time.

I ain’t trying to be no philosopher. I am a rapper, a poet and I am becoming a young leader in my hood. Obama is in da White House. Jinx Da Juvy will be paying the President a visit soon. I will tag along with my pops Russ. Thus, I am preparing myself for dat day. I am grinding. I am looking forward more than I am looking back.

Yes n****s need jobs, education and a better life. But dat shit don’t just fall out of the sky. You get in life what you work for. You receive what you give.

I’m just keeping it real. Before you worry about getting a record deal, you first got to make sure you are fulfilling your own goals in life. The language that I use is the language I feel. Since I started to blog on Global Grind, I have received messages for me to stop using profanity and the N-word.

I am not trying to be disrespectful to anyone. It’s kind a strange that some people want me to use nice words and expressions as if the profanity of poverty does not exist in our communities. Poverty hurts. Dis shit is painful. My raps reflect that reality.

My man Jim Jones says that because Obama is now in da White House, he has replaced da N-word with da O-word.

I get it. From here on I will say ‘Jim Jones is my Obama.’ But us Obamas on da street got to eat and got to stack some paper. Us Obamas got to do more in our own hoods to make life better. All of us Obamas got to be more responsible.
