Lupe Fiasco Kills Crowds With “Lasers” Performances, Album Set For #1 (VIDEO)

Lupe Fiasco has been making the rounds following the release of his long-awaited third album “Lasers” this past Tuesday.

Mr. Fiasco hit up BET’s “106 & Park” to chat about the record, as well as “Lopez Tonight” to perform his first single “The Show Goes On.” What’s more, the controversial album seems poised to hit #1 on next week’s Billboard charts with sales of around 220-240k. This is a career best for Lupe and also the second highest first-week sales of 2011, following Adele‘s “21.”

This may be surprising to Lupe, who has counted the record at times more as a labor, than a labor of love. “I hate this album,” he told the UK’s Guardian. “I don’t hate the music, but I hate the process. When I look at it, I don’t see song titles and artwork, I see the fight – I see the emotions, the blood, sweat and tears. There are a couple of songs on there that I love; but Lasers is a little bit of what you love, a little bit of what you like, and a lot of what you had to do.”
