Chris Brown surprised fans yesterday (September 15) when, in the middle of the night (at least on the east coast) he had San Francisco radio station Wild 94.9 premiere a snippet of a new song, titled ‘Yeah 3X.’

The techno-pop track is a welcomed return of a more pop-focused Breezy, who’s recently found his star shining bright again on the strength of ‘Deuces,’ a collaboration with Young Money rapper Tyga from their hip-hop mixtape, Fan of a Fan.

I love ‘Deuces’ as much as the next fan (who doesn’t love a good F-U song?), but Breezy really takes flight when he goes pop on us. Whether he’s making dance-pop for the clubs or crooning on a piano-driven piece of pop ballad perfection, Breezy has given fans more than a few gems in this genre.

Forever: Nothing gets better than ‘Forever.’ It’s hard to believe a song written for a Doublemint Gum commericial would become one of the most ubiquitous pop songs in recent history. You can’t find anyone who hasn’t seen the YouTube video of the wedding party dancing down the ailse to ‘Forever.’ The moment was recreated on an episode of ‘The Office,’ and they used the song at this year’s Emmys.

Froze: ‘Froze’ leaked way back in 2008. It was originally recorded for Breezy’s third album, Graffiti, but sadly, it didn’t make the cut for the final tracklisting. Why? Not sure, because the haunting ballad about loss and regret is much better than its updated counterpart, ‘So Cold,’ which did make it.
