Hip Hop is dead has been the cry for millions of HipHop fans since nas put the Cd out.  One of the main reasons why Nas was saying that hipHop is dead is because of lack of support and production in the New York Area. New York was considered the trendsetters of The hipHop world  everybody wanted to look New York talk like they  were from New York and sound like a New york rapper but since  The start of the new millenium HipHop has seen a drastic change for the worse. A series of dance records  where  rappers  turned hooks into dance song anthems such as peanut butter jelly time and Superman. New York at first laughed at these songs  and said they would never subject theirselfs to this. As time went on New york started becoming followers. They stoped becoming trendsetters and started becoming trending topics. They now  have heard  D.J’s tell them over and over that these are the hot songs these are the songs that are going to keep you on top. So instead of old new york the ones that were the leaders we have all become  followers. The new York resident HipHop listerners are no better. They don’t support their artist they woudl rather download instead of buying they would rather insult instead of bigging up. They have now seemingly joined others and helping them destroy new York HipHOp.. Lyrics don’t mean a thing anymore. Just seems like Jigga said it best ‘seems like new York got soft every since snoop came though and crushed the building
