Last night, the star of the New York Gubernatorial debate was most definitely Jimmy McMillan of the Rent Is Too Damn High party. Let’s face it, political debates are totally boring – the answers are stilted and prepared, no one actually addresses the pressing issues in a genuine, matter-of-fact way. It’s always the fringe candidates that actually speak truth to power. The thing is, funny hair and antics aside – Jimmy is totally right. Rent is too damn high. So here are ten burning questions we’d love to ask Jimmy ‘Rent Is Too Damn High’ McMillan.

WHO ARE YOUR STYLE ICONS?

We see a bit of Hulk Hogan, a bit of Colonel Sanders, and a pinch of Mr. T. Who do you draw inspiration from?

DO YOU HAVE A CAMPAIGN THEME SONG?

If not, Gwen Guthrie‘s ‘Nothing Goin’ On But The Rent’ is, like, the perfect fit. You can even change the lyrics to ‘If you need a J-O-B/Then you better vote for me.’ It’s almost as if Guthrie recorded this song just for your movement.

WHAT’S WITH THE FACIAL HAIR?

You are totally swagger-jacking Ambrose Everett Burnside. Not cool, man. NOT COOL.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL OF THIS TIME?

We can already tell by your apperance in the debate that you’d be a more competent governor than Patterson. Why is this the first we’ve heard of you?

WHO DESIGNED YOUR WEBSITE, WWW.RENTISTOODAMNHIGH.ORG?

It looks like it’s hosted by GeoCities.
