Electronic, filtered and synthesized sounds seems to be what M.I.A is going for her third upcoming album // / Y / (MAYA). The third single for the record ‘Teqkilla’ is filled with M.I.A’s usual edgy lyrics and this vibrant electronica sound. The track was produced by close friend and one half of Major Lazer, Switch. Her second single XXXO, released early last month, is in the works for a video release, said to be directed by famed video director Hype Williams. Jay-Z jumped on the official remix to the track and maybe he’ll make a guest appearance in the video and maybe the video will be just as contreversial as the first single Born Free.
