Police in Pennsylvania and Delaware have identified a suspect who has been using hypodermic needles as weapons to rob several stores. Two heists happened in Glen Mills, Delaware County while another happened in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Investigators said the most recent incident occurred Monday evening at the California Mega Sun Salon on Route 202 in the Glen Eagle Shopping Plaza in Glen Mills.

State Police Captain David Young says surveillance video captured the robbery on tape.

‘And he gets right in their personal space and he presents hypodermic needles and he threatens the employees with bodily harm with the hypodermic needles,’ said Captain Young. ‘He alleges that he’s HIV positive and these needles obviously contain the same HIV disease.’

The suspect, according to police, has been identified as 36-year-old Kevin Michael Cox, of Wilmington, Delaware. Cox was able to flee the store with an undisclosed amount of money. He was seen leaving the scene in a silver 2002 Lexus RX 300 with Pennsylvania tag EMD 6030. The employee was not injured.
