Can’t say we didn’t see this coming.

Robin Thicke’s smash hit “Blurred Lines” is taking over the music charts, but not without controversy. During a recent interview with BBC’s Radio 1, the “Blurred Lines” singer responded to critics who claim his summer anthem promotes “violence against women.”

When asked about the controversy, a stunned Robin Thicke initially responded by saying:

“I can’t even dignify that with a response, that’s ridiculous.

He then followed up with a more thorough response by stating:

“I don’t want to be sleazy, I’m a gentleman, I’ve been in love with the same woman since I’ve been a teenager. I don’t want to do anything inappropriate. For me it’s about blurring the lines between men and women and how much we’re the same. And the other side which is the blurred lines between a good girl and a bad girl, and even very good girls all have little bad sides to them.”

This isn’t Robin’s first run-in with controversy. The explicit version of “Blurred Lines” was banned from YouTube, but has since been replaced by a friendlier less explicit video.

What are your thoughts on the criticisms towards “Blurred Lines?” Valid or no?
