A few months ago, Jesse Eisenberg made headlines when an interview went totally wrong and he was less than nice to the accompanying journalist. Soon after, Univision’s Rubina Puga admitted she felt totally humiliated by the 29-year-old actor.

Now, Jesse is addressing the interview for the first time since it went viral. While chatting with The Vine, The Social Network actor admits that he really doesn’t give a damn what people think about how he treated the reporter.

Recently you were the subject of controversy after an interview with a blogger at a junket went sour. How did you feel being the centre of a media storm unfolded?

People write whatever they want to write about once they’re behind a computer. I’m not in the loop at all, so the only time I hear about things is if somebody calls me and tells me that so yeah… it was a really odd thing. I was just told that you don’t have to think about that stuff if you don’t want to.

There’s so much media and so much being written about everybody that even people who aren’t in the public eye now [are the subject of attention] so things tend to creep up and very quickly go away. So if I’m occasionally in something that’s public at the time, it feels like a big deal, but in the scheme of the world outside your own psyche, it’s nothing.

[The media] is not what it used to be. I heard about some actor – I forgot who – in the fifties who was a heavy smoker and there’s not one picture of him ever taken with a cigarette in his mouth, and that’s just not possible now. If you’re worried about [your media presence] you can spend a lot of time worrying about it, but if you don’t worry about it, then it doesn’t matter.

Zero Phucks Given! Do you think Jesse should have apologized?
