The Apollo has been home to many musical greats including Jimi Hendrix and Ella Fitzgerald, so it’s no wonder A$AP Rocky and his Mob felt honored to be able to go back to their hometown in Harlem and perform for the crowd there at the historical theatre.
After doing their thing and rocking out to hit single “Shabba” for BET’s Apollo Live taping, Rocky and Ferg spoke to The NY Daily News about how exciting it was to be on the biggest stage Harlem has to offer for the first time. Rocky kept it candid while commenting:
“It’s no feeling like it. It felt like a homecoming.”
While Ferg said:
“Man, Michael Jackson performed on this stage! We seen a lot of our friends here. It just felt good. We’re making our own history.”
