Mayer Hawthorne is feeling royal.
The LA-based singer/songwriter covers New Zealand newcomer Lorde’s smash hit “Royals.”
The “Her Favorite Song” singer covered Lorde’s breakout track during VEVO’s Unexpected Covers series. The cover was so well-received, that Mayer decided to officially record his own funky rendition of the anti-pop anthem.
Over the summer, Mayer released his album, Where Does This Door Go, which featured collaborations by artists like Kendrick Lamar and Jessie Ware.
