Alicia Keys loves to sing her heart out, but she also loves to help out charities.

The Girl On Fire singer got to do both this week when she performed at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC, where she helped to raise $4 million for “Keep A Child Alive!

Inviting her VIPs to the event to encourage them to donate money, she eventually reached the large amount after performing her hit songs.

The money will be going towards helping children and families who are dealing with AIDS in South Africa as well as India.

Along with raising money, Alicia gave a huge shout out to her son Egypt, who she hopes will follow in her musical footsteps one day.

She told the crowd:

“He’s so independent. He’s extremely smart. He plays piano, he plays drums. His rhythm is kind of impressive.”

Not only did Alicia perform, but Pharrell took the stage to perform his hit “Get Lucky” just before the night of fundraising was over.
