ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) has lost millions after supporting the Stand Your Ground Law. The Republican lobbying network is now seeking donations after losing deals with Amazon, Coca Cola, McDonald’s and Walmart. Currently, ALEC is working up a plan under the name called the “Prodigal Son Project” to attract investors. Gotta love karma, right?  [The Guardian]

A New York attorney is claiming that Metro North engineer William Rockerfeller experienced “highway hypnosis,” or for lack of a better word, nodded off right before the train he was conducting derailed in the Bronx, killing four people and injuring over 70 other passengers. Attorney Jeffery Chartier claims that his client experienced the daze because of his extensive work schedule.  [Huff Post] 

According to Gawker, the TSA has collected over $50,000 dollars in change in 2013. The money, left behind by passengers, will be put into an aviation security fund that will pay for military members and their families to fly. [Gawker]
