Yesterday we reported on the unfortunate death of Hustle Gang’s Doe B (Glenn Thomas) as well as a young 21 year old girl, both results of an overnight shooting at Centennial Hill Bar and Grill on Highland Avenue in Alabama.

Now more details are emerging on the incident as Mayor Todd Strange has decided to close down the club, saying it is “an imminent threat to public safety”.

In written statement he says:

“I believe it is not a matter of ‘if’, but ‘when’ the next tragic incident occurs at this business. That is unacceptable, and that is why we have ordered the business to be closed effective immediately.”

Rapper Doe B and 21 year old Kim Johnson were the two fatalities in the shooting and six others were injured. Reports claim the shots fired were directed at the Hustle Gang member.

According to Revolt TV,  a source close to the rapper says he had a history with his assailant who grew jealous over his growing music career. The site reports:

In speaking with one of Doe B’s close associates, who requested he remain anonymous, Doe B had a history with the assailant. Though it’s unclear how long the two knew one another, in light of Doe B’s recent meteoric rise to fame, the shooter’s jealousy and envy for the budding MC grew, compounded by the love and admiration the late rapper got in his hometown. The assailant’s spiraling jealousy likely led to his seeking out Doe B at the Centennial on Friday night, before ending his life.

When police arrived on the scene they found Johnson and Doe B suffering gunshot wounds. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene while Thomas was taken to Baptist Medical Center South where he was later pronounced dead.

WSFA reports:

Six additional victims were located on the scene also suffering from gunshot wounds. All were transported from the scene or by personal vehicle to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

This makes for the 47th and 48th homicides in Montgomery, Alabama this year. No arrest of been made yet.

Doe B has two children and one on the way. Kim Johnson just turned 21 this past week.

We are praying for the loved ones of both and continue to take a stance against violence. RIP.
