All this week, publications around the ‘Net have been celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Kanye West‘s classic debut, The College Dropout.

We even did our own piece, shouting out the album’s closer,”Last Call.” Here’s something else cool we found: Kanye West’s first appearance on BET’s iconic show Rap City.

There’s a couple of things that make this footage great: first, there’s an appearance by Hi-Tek, one of the illest producers of the 2000s (is he still doing stuff?). And two, you can clearly see Kanye’s confidence is on 100 here.

Kanye even talks about pulling a Wale: ‘Ye called an undisclosed magazine to talk about why his “Through the Wire” video wasn’t considered video of the year. (Classic).

The clip is kind of long (16 minutes) but it’s definitely worth a watch.
