Earlier this week, the British Academy of Film and Television Awards, better known as the BAFTA awards, aired on BBC One – unfortunately it seems no one tuned in.
The once popular award show received its lowest ratings since 2010, reaching just 4.6 million viewers. Last year, the ceremony drew its highest audience since 2004, with an average of 6.2 million people tuning in.
Some of the biggest names in Hollywood showed out to support their fellow actors, actresses and directors. Among the A-listers present were Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper and Christian Bale along with American Hustle director David O. Russell. The cast won three awards.
In other news, George Clooney and the cast of Monuments Men are headed for the White House!
President Obama plans to host the cast of the new movie for a private screening at his presidential pad. Though it’s not clear which members of the crew will be in attendance, we do know Clooney, who co-wrote, directed and starred in the film, has RSVP’d.
Bad news for the Soup Man!
The company, which was made famous by Seinfeld‘s Soup Nazi, is having some serious problems with their stock.
A woman named Penny Hart claims the company was once in need of some fast cash and she obliged. Hart says she loaned them more than $1.5 million and now she wants it all back. According to Penny, they have two choices: either pay her back in full or hand over 500,000 shares of their company’s stock.
A rep for the soup company says Penny will get her shares of the stock just as soon as she holds up her end of the bargain, though they did not share what that was.
