At long last, award season’s grand finale is creeping up on us. After the Golden Globes, the BAFTAS and a number of smaller award shows have rolled up their red carpets, we’re all waiting for the Oscars to see who will reign supreme in the winners’ circle, and of course, on the red carpet.

Naturally, every award season, a crop of phenomenal women rise to the top and become the fashion world’s obsession of the moment, as they snatch awards and take names. This season, the stars happen to be Jennifer Lawrence, once again, and Amy Adams for their appearances in American Hustle, and the woman whose face needs no introduction, Lupita Nyong’o, for her appearance in 12 Years a Slave.

While what the stars will wear remain a mystery until the night of March 2nd, we decided to try our hand at predicting what these ladies will slip into for their big moment. Feel free to come back and check our accuracy following the show, but full disclaimer…it was really fun even if it wasn’t right.

We know this about the star: She will absolutely wear Dior Couture on the red carpet, the only question is if she will be donning a number from archived Chanel, or if she will pick something new from their latest runway. If she goes with the latter, we’re putting some bank on longer, more formal custom renditions of the above styles.

Lupita has a penchant for clean lines and classic American designers, but for the Oscars, we feel like she may shy away from bright colors in lieu of some more romantic color palettes. We snagged looks from Ralph Lauren, Gucci and Naeem Khan. Who knows, maybe she’ll forgo dresses all together for a flowy pantsuit from Valentino?

Amy Adams definitely has a love for full skirts on her red carpet dresses, but she also knows a good plunging neckline when she sees one. We can go ahead and say that Amy has one of the best on-film wardrobes and we can only hope she goes for something a little more on the daring side, like the full tulle skirt on Valentino (second from right) or a full-shimmery look from Naeem Khan.

Come back and check this space next Sunday!
