The Daily Grind Video

We caught up with some of hip-pop’s major heavyweights during the red carpet premiere of The Tanning Of America to discuss how hip-hop changed them. Nas, Steve Stoute and Gail King all weighed in and trust us, you’ve got to see this one.

The Tanning Of America is a four-part documentary series based on the book The Tanning of America: How Hip-Hop Created A Culture That Rewrote The Rules of the New Economy. Both the book and the film are by former Interscope Records president Steve Stoute. The four-part docu-series explores the hip-hop movement as it relates to major political figures and pop-culture icons. It provides a historical look at hip-hop that has not yet been examined, focusing on both major and minor events and legendary figures in hip-hop.

Curious how hip-hop changed Nas, Steve Stoute and Gail King? Check out the video above!

The Tanning Of America will air its final piece tonight on VH1.
