Kid Cudi has teamed up with Skylar Grey for the first track off the Need for Speed movie soundtrack, “Hero.”
With his haunting voice filling the background, the G.O.O.D. Music rapper-turned-movie star spits, “The future is uncertain and there’s only one way and it’s down this road, so I’m speeding away” – a line perfect for the car-racing themed movie, which Cud also stars in.
Skylar, known for her hooks on Diddy Dirty Money’s “Coming Home” and Dr. Dre’s “I Need a Doctor,” lends her vocals to the WZRD (Kid Cudi and Dot Da Genius)-produced track. The two harmonize beautifully together towards the end, lending a hypnotizing, ethereal vibe to the track.
Linkin Park, Calvin Harris, and more appear on the soundtrack set to drop on April 8th. You can listen to more Kid Cudi by downloading his latest album, Satellite Flight, on iTunes and catch him in theaters this Friday in Need for Speed. Cudi will appear on the big screen again in the upcoming Entourage movie, due next year.
