Looks like two flawless ladies, Lupita Nyong’o and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, have something special in the works.
The Nigerian author recently gained A LOT of popularity when excerpts of her TEDTalk called “We Should All Be Feminists” were sampled on the Beyonce track “***Flawless” released last December.
Adichie recently sat down with Arise Entertainment 360 and spilled some minor (but big) details on a project she’s working on with everyone’s best friend in their head, Lupita Nyong’o.
Adichie said:
“I’m going to do the mysterious thing and say that Lupita [Nyong’o] might be making an announcement very soon,” she said. “I don’t know. That announcement might be about Americanah.”
Americanah is Adichie’s 2013 novel that tells the story of “a young Nigerian woman who emigrates to America for a university education.” The novel recently just won a National Book Circle Critics Award.
We’re assuming (or at least hoping) this means Americanah will be turned into a big screen production starring none other than Lupita. While Lupita has yet to respond to these claims, we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
