It’s been nearly four months since Paul Walker‘s tragic death in Southern California, and more details surrounding the guardianship of his 15-year-old daughter Meadow have come to light.

Yesterday, Paul’s mother Cheryl reportedly filed court documents seeking guardianship over his daughter. Reports surfaced that just hours before his fatal car crash, Paul had asked his mother to become Meadow’s legal guardian.

TMZ reports:

Sources close to the Walker family tell us … Paul approached his mother, Cheryl, on November 30th and asked her to retire from her nursing job to take care of Meadow full-time.

Turns out Walker had been overwhelmed with his work schedule and couldn’t juggle that with his parental responsibilities.  So in August — 3 months before he died — Meadow moved in with Cheryl, who was working full time.

Meadow had previously been living with her mother Rebecca Soteros, who allegedly had a drinking problem, and in 2011, she moved with Walker to California. Back in February, Walker also left $25 million of his estate to Meadow, leaving nothing for the rest of the family.

In other news, castmate Tyrese Gibson is opening up about how he’s moving on after Walker’s tragic death back in November. Filming of Fast & Furious 7 was shut down after Walker’s death, but has finally resumed, with a new release date set for next year.

Gibson told TooFab:

“This is the only movie I ever worked on where we are all real close even after the movie is over. It wasn’t just losing a costar, he was family for real. That’s why it took so long to recover.”

He added:

“God’s grace is all we have. Before we start filming we are going to have a strong prayer. That will be the start, before we film anything. That’s what is needed for us to do Fast & Furious 7.

Co-star Vin Dieselwho plays Dom in the franchise, also had some things to say about how he’s getting back into filming.

Diesel posted on his Facebook:

“The transition into that Dom state of mind has always been an interesting one,” he explained. “Only this time there is added purpose, a collective goal to make this [movie] the best one in the series.”

We can only imagine it must be a difficult time for everyone involved, but we know they’ll pull through and come out with a great film. His next film Brick Mansion looks like it might be another gem for his legacy.
