The issue of diversity is not just black and white.
Race and fashion has long been a firestorm consistently fueled by the lack of brown faces on runways and in the glossies, but Harper’s Bazaar is reminding us that beauty comes in all colors, sizes and shapes.
The magazine’s latest beauty editorial is a first for Carine Roitfeld, who has always done an excellent job at highlighting the many facets of diversity, and she’s succeeded yet again with a stunning shoot shot by Johnny Dufort.
The collection of photos goes beyond featuring women of several races–everything from body types to hair colors and textures, colors and cuts are showcased – as the models are poised in pre-fall collections and brightly-hued makeup that’s as colorful as they are. And what’s more beautiful than that?
