Estelle stopped by the No Judgment Zone with BlogXilla to discuss her new single “Make Her Say.” The “American Boy” singer gave us the 411 on her new single “Make Her Say,” her upcoming album and brought us back in the day to her childhood.
“I didn’t grow up with a silver spoon in my mouth,” as she recalled coming home to no heat and having to use the stove to heat the house.
She also clarifies her feelings about Adele, while she thinks she is a great artist she doesn’t think Adele is a soul artist:
“I don’t think of her and think of Aretha. So to me that’s not soul, she does great folk music. To me don’t resonate that with soul so don’t sell that to me as soul and tell me I have to co-sign that or endorse it.”
Again she just wants people just because she considers Adele folk music:
“I don’t hate her, I don’t want to grill her, I don’t want to fight her… It’s hard enough for us all out here.”
