A mother from Jackson, Tennessee is facing major scrutiny after “carrying” her newborn daughter down the aisle as an attachment to her gown’s train.

Yep, that happened.

The photo of the baby attached to the dress went viral last week, with many believing the shocking picture was Photoshopped. However, the mother, Shona Carter-Brooks, took to her Facebook page to react to the negative comments she received about her custom-made dress.

“People questioning what we do, commenting all negative, and just doing the most,” she said. “We good though we covered by the Blood which never loose its power. So to the media, radio, news, and whomever else wanting to talk about what WE do here you go: Media Media I see how it works regardless the situation or purpose people gone have something negative to say! The answer is we do what we want when we want long as Jesus on our side everything worked out fine and gone continue to be fine. Our 1 month old was awake and well secured on my train. Most important while yall got ya feelings in us we had our hearts in Christ which covers all!! So keep ya mouths running for it was just that Exclusive and Epic enough we made top blog way from small town Ripley, TN and the social media doing what they do, TALK!!!!’

Brooks, who has another daughter, says that the dress was tailor-made for her and featured a secure space for the child. Family and friends of the bride also hopped on Facebook to show their support, with one person claiming that she was inspired by the get-up and plans to do the same at her ceremony.

“I’m gone be HONEST My baby gone be the same way I Truly inspire my little cousin Shona Carter-Brooks I mean my Praying Sister love u,” said user R’enee Bonds.

Yep, that happened too.

The baby was not harmed during the ceremony, but our society will surely be if this “baby attachment” wedding gown thing becomes an actual thing. Fingers crossed it doesn’t.
