Katy Perry recently revealed that she’s back on the market – but she has no plans to stay there, so you better act fast.
The “Birthday” singer sat down with gal pal Chelsea Handler for an interview in Cosmopolitan Magazine, and she got candid about her love life. The full interview will appear in the July issue of their magazine, but here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect:
“I guess I happen to be attracted to high-frequency men,” Katy said.
“It feels like a hundred lifetimes ago, so it’s like digging up an old grave. A lot of therapy has happened and a lot of understanding and growth,” she said of ending her marriage to comedian Russell Brand after just 14 months.
Though she’s been through a lot since her divorce, the 29-year-old pop star says she’s also taken a lot away from her unfortunate romantic endeavors and learned what she wants in her next relationship.
“Sometimes you have to go through all this shit to get your grips on life and figure out what the next boundaries in your love life are going to be. You have to go through the mud in order to find that peaceful place. In the long run, it was necessary for me to have more of a teammate.”
“I know it sounds really hippie-shit, but I’m living in the now and not fantasizing about the future or being torn up about the past. I’m super Eckhart Tolle. I have a lot of respect for John still, and I know it goes both ways,” she said.
“There’s no bad blood, but I’m sure there will be inspired songs.”
It’s not just the dating game that Katy’s a little out of touch with. The singer shared with Chelsea exactly how long it’s been since her last romp in the sheets…
“Maybe six months or a year,” she said.
“I don’t stay single for long. I’m not like Professor Higgins with my sex life,” she said
“I’m not super strict. For one, the most important thing about sex is connection,” she said before adding that she has “never been that way.”
Can we pick your next boyfriend, Katy?
