Dropping knowledge!

Sway, A$AP Ferg, Bodega Bamz, and Flatbush ZOMBiES have come together for a public service announcement to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. The PSAs are part of Lifebeat’s campaign to raise awareness about HIV through music.

The rappers share their thoughts on the subject and encourage young people to practice safe sex. Harlem rapper Bodega Bamz commented, “To put your confidence in a stranger that you don’t even know is ridiculous. It’s not worth it.”

A$AP Ferg says, “You’re never too cool to be aware.” Ironically enough, on his single “Shabba,” Fergenstein rapped, “I got a girl, I ain’t got no f**king condoms.” We certainly hope he’s had a genuine change of heart since writing those lyrics.

As Sway informs us in the video, June 27th is National HIV Testing Day. Seeing as one thousand young people contract HIV every month in the U.S., one would be well advised to save the date. Find out more about Lifebeat’s campaign at lifebeat.org and watch all three PSAs below.
