Film director Spike Lee doesn’t only have game when it comes to creating provocative and innovative films, he also has game when it comes to street style.
The Do The Right Thing director’s iconic ‘90s style is interestingly original and now, New Era – the brand that created the retro red Yankees cap for Spike during the 1996 World Series game – has brought it back to life in their newest collaboration.
At the time, New Era didn’t create caps that weren’t in official team colors, but when they produced Spike’s one-of-a-kind topper, they had no idea requests would be so high.
New Era has collaborated with Spike Lee for the New Era Heritage Series: 1996 World Series Collection to commemorate the game-changing moment for the brand. The collection features the original red design with embroidered side patch from the World Series in wool. A navy option is also available, along with a white one crafted from genuine leather. Each hat will come in a special New Era Series box with a commemorative booklet.
