He’s back from vacation and sparing no conservative pundits.
Jon Stewart returned to The Daily Show last night and spent most of his time giving a comedic but sadly true scolding to Fox News regarding their coverage of the police brutality the world has witnessed come out of Ferguson Mo., in the past two weeks.
Focusing on the racial tension (that somehow doesn’t exist in Fox’s post-racial world), tear gassing of residents and the shooting of an unarmed black teenager at the hands of a white cop, Stewart humorously shed light on the differences black and white people face in this country.
Not that we didn’t already know, but Stewart’s take also turned the table on Fox News hosts who don’t believe in climate change, believe only racists talk about race (yep, that happened), and get more upset about “the war on Christmas…” whatever the hell that is.
“You were furious that America’s 11-month-long celebration of Christmas wasn’t enough. But now, if you can, just imagine that instead of having to suffer the indignity of a Festivus pole blocking something you could’ve just set up in your own yard anyway…imagine, that instead of that, on a pretty consistent basis, you can’t get a fucking cab even though you’re a neurosurgeon because you’re black.”
It’s a reality that Fox news hosts who claim those focusing on the racial aspect of Michael Brown’s death are race baiting, will never know.
“Every person of color in this country has faced an indignity.” Steward said. “From the ridiculous to the grotesque to the sometimes fatal, at some point in their—I’m going to say the last couple of hours—because of their skin color.”
Watch the video above to be transported to Fox’s “color doesn’t matter” world and get some advice on how to handle the police from Sean Hannity that will almost definitely get you killed if you are black.
