If you’re a lover of hip-hop, urban apparel, and sneakers, then you should’ve been at Roc ‘N Sole’s celebration of Vandal-A’s OG “Emory Jones Edition” collection in Brooklyn.

The event was hosted by some of Jay Z’s closest friends: Tyran “TyTy” Smith, Lenny S., Jeff Harris, and Tashawn Smith-Green, who also happen to be the owners of the Boerum Hill sneaker and clothing boutique. And if you were wondering, the celebration was blessed by spirits provided by Jay Z’s D’USSÈ VSOP Cognac.

Guests were invited to Roc ‘N Sole to meet the infamous Emory Jones, aka “the man behind the scenes.” Emory Jones is music mogul Jay Z’s childhood friend with whom he started his illegal drug business. Subsequently, Emory ended up getting arrested for cocaine trafficking in 2000 and spent more than 10 years in prison.

On Jeezy’s latest lead single “Seen It All,” Jay raps about Emory:

“I was in the S-Class you was just in class/You know I was finna blow like a meth lab/ Expanded the operation out in Maryland/Me and Emory Jones in the caravan.”
