FKA twigs has only been in the pop music conversation for a short time. However, she’s already built a rep for being one of the more inventive minds in music.
You see the full extent of her artistry in her music videos, which tend to be visually abstract and forward thinking. The singer’s latest is for “Video Girl,” one of the relatively commercial songs on her strong debut album, LP1.
It seems like twigs is taking a stance on execution. In the video, you see a man being given a lethal injection, while FKA watches over him, sort of hovering and dancing as he dies.
The Kahlil Joseph-directed visual is pretty jarring.
