So this happened. In an effort to celebrate being the first NFL team to reach 1 million followers, the New England Patriots decided to thank their Twitter followers by placing their handles on virtual jerseys — messages that would be automatically tweeted out. Big mistake. Enter troll internet and a user with the handle @ihateniggerrs. The result? The questionable tweet above. The Patriots acted quickly, taking the tweet down, and apologizing for the racial epithet. Read about it here…[OrlandoSentinel]

A New Jersey man driving under the influence hit a pedestrian and drove for more than a mile with the victim stuck in the windshield of the car. That drunk man, 33-year-old Marcos Ortega, hit a 61-year-old man on Monday. When police caught up with the “erratic” driver, they noticed the victim “halfway through the vehicle’s windshield.” He was removed and hospitalized and is now in critical condition. And in painfully disturbing news, a 19-year-old London teenager was arrested and jailed for planning “revenge rape” on a teenage girl. Aliyah Weekes was sentenced to four and a half years in a young offenders institute for getting her brother to rape the 15-year-old girl for allegedly spreading rumors about her. Her brother, who was 18-years-old at the time, was imprisoned for five years. Both siblings were placed on the sex offender register. Read about it here…[Buzzfeed]
